Hi there, welcome to our blog!

We're Dwayne and Hanna,

growing book collection sadly
lacks a bookshelf.

We're 23 and 15, and we live in London.

Like most sisters, we bicker. A lot.

Book Covers: The Last Echo (Kimberly Derting) & Bloodlines (Richelle Mead)

Two very exciting cover releases that I wish to share with you guys tonight. First up is the third book in one of my favourite series - The Last Echo by Kimberly Derting! I am absolutely in love with Violet and Jay and can hardly do more waiting for the third book!

Kimberly has hinted on her blog that the colour is significant - perhaps there will be an echo with the colour purple in the book? What do you think?

Violet kept her morbid ability to sense dead bodies a secret from everyone except her family and her childhood-best-friend-turned-boyfriend, Jay Heaton. That is until forensic psychologist Sara Priest discovered Violet’s talent and invited her to use her gift to track down murderers.

Now, as she works with an eclectic group of individuals—including mysterious and dangerously attractive Rafe—it’s Violet’s job to help those who have been murdered by bringing their killers to justice. When Violet discovers the body of a college girl killed by “the girlfriend collector” she is determined to solve the case. But now the serial killer is on the lookout for a new “relationship” and Violet may have caught his eye....

Now for another much-awaited cover...

Fans of Vampire Academy rejoice! The UK cover of the much awaited first book in this brand new trilogy by Richelle Mead has finally been unveiled! May I present to you the cover for BLOODLINES?

LOVE AND LOYALTY RUN DEEPER THAN BLOOD…

Sydney protects vampire secrets – and human lives. As an alchemist, she is part of a secret group who dabbles in magic and serves to bridge the world of humans and vampires.

But when Sydney is torn from her bed in the middle of the night, she fears she’s still being punished for her complicated alliance with dhampir Rose Hathaway. What unfolds is far worse. Jill Dragomir—the sister of Moroi Queen Lissa Dragomir—is in mortal danger, and goes into hiding. Now Sydney must act as Jill’s protector.

The last thing Sydney wants is to be accused of sympathising with vampires. And now she has to live with one . . .

*Squeaaaaaaal!*

Hot off the Press: Outside In UK cover!

Mira Ink has unveiled the UK cover for Maria Snyder's Outside In, to be published 18th March 2011. This is the sequel to dystopian fiction Inside Out, which is a fabulous book by the way. I love the way the pipes are exactly like how I imagined it - although I thought the space in between would be a little smaller. I cannot wait to get my hands on it - what do you guys think?

Chain Reaction (Simone Elkeles) Cover and Blurb!

From Simone's Facebook page...

Luis Fuentes is a good boy who doesn’t live with the angst that his big brothers, Alex and Carlos, have always lived with. Luis is smart, funny, and has big dreams of becoming an astronaut. But when he falls for the wrong girl, Luis enters a dark world he’s never known, and just when he thinks he’s got life all figured out, learns some disturbing news about his family that destroys his positive outlook on life. Will that Fuentes bad boy streak come out with a vengeance and lure Luis to live on the edge like his new girlfriend and his own father?

Continuing all the steamy romance of the first two books, New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Simone Elkeles gives fans one more satisfying taste of the irresistible Fuentes boys.

CHAIN REACTION will be published by Walker Books on Spring 2011.

No comment. No Comment. NO COMMENT!

They're making out under a shower! *swoon* This is the little boy whose Alex's mama hit on the head because he couldn't keeo his mouth shut and asked Brittany if she's his brother's girlfriend? Wheeeee!

PS. Notice how the girl in the cover is actually pulling at a chain? :)

Matched Trailer and Nightshade UK cover!

The book trailer for Matched is so bloody brilliant, every one should see it. The YA world need more trailers this epic! Don't forget to check out www.matched-book.com and get matched yourself. Sounds good? :)

And, look what I just found on Amazon UK:

Nightshade UK cover!

I love the US cover but I am a sucker for everything purple and this book just about has my favourite colour. The eyes stand out more due to the darker hue as well. I'm not sure about the way the title is positioned but I do prefer this to the US version.

This beauty cannot not be on my reading stack! What do you think? Which do you prefer?

Desires of the Dead: Cover Revealed!

I'm so very excited to post this. I loooooooved (yes, that's seven o's) Kimberly Derting's The Body Finder. And tonight the cover for the sequel, Desires of the Dead has just been revealed! Excited? So am I!

Here we go:

Oh yes.
It's complementary with the blue of The Body Finder, no? They would reaaally look good together on a bookshelf (I want one)!
Although I'm pretty only the colour and the title of the cover is different, I'm still excited!
Your thoughts?

CRESCENDO: The Cover Revealed!

Alright!

So I spent most of my day with the rest of the Hush, Hush fandom waiting for and watching artist Laurie Maves draw it for us in chalk. We also had the chance to speak and greet Becca, who was as excited as everyone in Crescendo's cover reveal!

It was a very fun day tweeting and guessing what the cover might hold. Some of the (hilarious) guesses were as follows:

1. Nora and Patch making out.
2. Patch's hotness wings surrounding Nora.
3. More Nora-Patch making out photos.
4. Patch's sexy back with wings.
5. Nora in a bikini. ( I cannot believe this!)

We were all super excited when half-way through, Becca and Laurie sent the admin @ Fallen Archangel pictures of the cover half-done, which they immediately shared with us (thank you guys!). But we were a lot more excited when we saw the finished cover! Without further ado, here it is!

How awesome is that? Laurie, you're amazing! And of course, here is the real cover for CRESCENDO!

Doesn't it just make you beg for a copy? :D

We don't have Patch's sexiness but hey, Nora (it is Nora, isn't it?) is most welcome! So we have two matching covers, one of Patch and the other of Nora - and we're hoping there's more! I am intrigued however, as to the symbols. What might the lightning mean? And the lone feather? Could it probably mean Patch's absence, as taken from the blurb?

Damn, the excitement is killing me. I just have to have this book!

Thoughts?

Book Cover: LINGER UK COVER!

So, Amazon.co.uk just informed me that this will be the UK cover for Linger. Similar to the US cover, only except for Grace's outline (I'm assuming it is Grace) on a green forest there's a pink pawprint against a black greenery.

I like that it adheres to the UK cover of Shiver (which is also black and white), but personally I prefer the US cover better. I'm more of a colour person but I have zero complaints about this one! It's pretty too, no? Make sure you pre-order!

What do you think? :)

CRESCENDO Summary and Cover reveal deets!

Becca just FB-ed this news - it literally made me jump out of the chair I'm currently perched on and scream. Hell, yes. I have been patiently waiting, and I just about had it!

OMG OMG OMG. Here we go!

Nora should have known her life was far from perfect. Despite starting a relationship with her guardian angel, Patch (who, title aside, can be described as anything but angelic), and surviving an attempt on her life, things are not looking up. Patch is starting to pull away and Nora can't figure out if it's for her best interest or if his interest has shifted to her arch-enemy, Marcie Millar. Not to mention that Nora is haunted by images of her father and she becomes obsessed with finding out what really happened to him that night he left for Portland and never came home.
The further Nora delves into the mystery of her father's death, the more she comes to question if her Nephilim bloodline has something to do with it as well as why she seems to be in danger more than the average girl. Since Patch isn't answering her questions and seems to be standing in her way, she has to start finding the answers on her own. Relying too heavily on the fact that she has a guardian angel puts Nora at risk again and again. But can she really count on Patch or is he hiding secrets darker than she can even imagine?
Marcie Millar? Seriously? No way. No, no way. Oh hell, I can't think properly. All I know is, this HAS to be good!
Thoughts?

Book Cover: Return to Paradise (confirmed w/ Simone!)

This has not been confirmed yet been confirmed by the ever so lovely Simone Elkeles!  My word - is this the cover for the eagerly awaited sequel to Simone Elkeles' Leaving Paradise? (I am holding out my OMG OMG OMG OMG squeeeeeeeaaaal!)

I have sinned with that book! Thoughts, anyone?
Sorry, I can't even be coherent. I'm gushing!

Beautiful Darkness book cover revealed!

Some secrets are life-altering...
Others are life ENDING.

I like the starry background, the seemingly-perfect Ravenwood Manor (I'm assuming) gate - and blue! They chose blue! :)

The blurb is amazing too - Kami and Margaret are amazing at plots and twists and I can't wait for the surprise held by Beautiful Darkness!

Look, pretty covers!

I gave the online Waterstone's site a visit today and found these two new and interesting covers. I wasn't particularly drawn to the US covers but this - oh my!

The UK cover of The Forest of Hands and Teeth (FoHaT) and The Dead Tossed Waves (DTW) by Carrie Ryan are both really pretty, don't you think? They cater to my simplistic preference and the cream (or beige?) background contrasts with the red so beautifully. And to note, before I saved the images the DTW actually has the same background with The FoHaT but so suddenly they turned it black. I hope it comes out in the original creamy beige background because I'd love these two matching covers on our inexistent bookshelf under my bed. I wasn't so interested in reading this but I changed my mind :)
